Selex Hidas 15 for the new AgustaWestland's helicopter
Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems (Finmeccanica group) will provide the suite for the electronic countermeasures and sensors management related to the self-protection of the new AgustaWestland Future Lynx military helicopter. The latest version of the well kn own rotor-winged aircraft will be in fact endowed with the system named HIDAS 15 (Helicopter Integrated Defensive Aids System) which performs a quick and general assessment about the threat degree that the aircraft is forced to face during a mission, what enables the crew to properly and effectively resort to the available countermeasures. One should underline that such a system is already scheduled for the British Army’s AH Mk1 Apache combat helicopter.
